First-exon predictions of the human genome

Each subdirectory contains 24 ascii files with predictions of first exons in the human genome. The predictions are obtained by running FirstEF on each of the 24 human chromosomes (1, 2, ..., 22, X, Y) as follows:

• run the executable of firstef.c with parameter values P(promoter) = 0.3, P(exon) = 0.5, and P(donor) = 0.4, and
• post-process the output with firstef_genome_parser.pl with parameter values P(promoter) = 0.4, P(exon) = 0.5, and P(donor) = 0.4.

• Column 1 = index of the predicted first exon: 1, 2, 3, ...
• Column 2 = strand: + (Watson strand) and - (Crick strand)
• Column 3 = starting and ending position of the predicted first exon
• Column 4 = a posteriori probability P(exon).
